February Favorites

Can you guys believe it's March already? I swear it was just yesterday that I was writing my January favorites post - now I'm halfway through the Spring semester and basically drowning from all of the work I have to do. Even though I do feel like I'm doing a lot, I have been pretty happy this past month, something that I talked about in one of my last blog posts.

Anyway, here are a few things that I've loved this February - enjoy!

Beauty

Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy Perfume (here)
A couple of years ago, I got this perfume for my birthday and would not stop wearing it - it's a perfect scent for me because it's super light and girly and doesn't smell too much like candy (which I hate!). I broke my first bottle of the perfume, but my mom purchased another for me as a Valentine's Day present and I've loved wearing it every day again.

ColourPop WeHo Ultra Glossy Lip ($6)
Would it really be a favorites post without a mention of ColourPop? This lip gloss has been my go-to for the past month, because it's a way to make your lips pop without having to worry about lip liner or any of the trouble that comes with wearing a real lipstick. It's also the perfect nude for my skin tone, something I appreciate tremendously.

Music

This month, I spent a lot of time listening to "throwback" songs - they're not really throwbacks because they're from the early 2000's, but they remind me of my childhood nonetheless. I grew up around a lot of John Mayer and Rob Thomas, and after finding one of these songs on Spotify I kind of spiraled into this desire to listen to all the music I listened to as a kid. You can listen to my February playlist below!

Life

Dancing with the Harlem Globetrotters
In the middle of the month, my dance team & I had the opportunity to open up for the Harlem Globetrotters performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, and it was so great. It was the biggest performance our team has ever done, and it was so satisfying seeing all of the work that we did come to fruition.

SWE Region E Conference
Last week, I had the chance to go to my first ever professional conference - it was so much fun, and I was able to learn a lot about pursuing a career in engineering as a woman. You can read more about my experience in my last blog post!

NYC Trip with Michael
My boyfriend and I took an impromptu trip into New York City to explore, and we had the most amazing time. We walked around a little bit on the High Line in the Meatpacking District, went shopping in a little independent bookstore in the Chelsea Market, and ended the night at Black Tap with the most extravagantly wonderful Cookies & Cream milkshake. It was the perfect way to end my February!

Miscellaneous

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
One of my resolutions this year was to read more, and as a result I picked up The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Although the book can be a little dark at times, I fell in love with the way the book was written. It was so honest, and it really enabled the reader to immerse in Esther's life. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a book to read!

Jane The Virgin
Okay, I love/hate my sister for getting me hooked on this series - I started the first season this month, and it's so good! It's totally crazy, and completely unrealistic, but it's so much fun seeing every twist and turn of the show and it's hard to stop once you've started. Fair warning, though, it's an emotional rollercoaster - I've cried after every single episode! (I'm a sop, I know.)

What were your favorites this month?
